A Range of Services for Denture Fit, Comfort & Aesthetics

Are your dentures loose, tilting, rocking, moving and falling? The most common cause is shrinking bone under your gums. If tooth extraction for your dentures is recent, you will notice pronounced shrinkage of the gums within the first year. When the teeth are gone, the bone which supported them gradually resorbs, which happens more in your lower jaw. Gum shrinkage over time also results from weight loss, aging or illness. Whatever the cause, stop your discomfort; see the technicians of Sommer Denture Centre for your denture solutions. Same-day and while-you-wait services are available.

Relines
The good news is that your dentures can be relined or refitted by Sommer Denture Centre on site, usually while you wait. Relines consist of adding new base material to the tissue side of a denture so it fits properly. This will fill in the gaps created by shrinking gums and increase your dentures’ stability.

Rebases
Rebasing is usually done when the denture base material has worn out, not the denture teeth. Sommer Denture Centre retrofits worn dentures by replacing the denture base with new acrylic, providing a stable denture without replacing the denture teeth.

Repairs
Dentures are made of acrylic. Although modern acrylics are strong, they are not unbreakable. In most cases, Sommer Denture Centre can restore an existing broken or cracked denture to its original state. You may need repairs for:
  • Breakage or chipping
  • Wear & tear
  • Adding one or more teeth to an existing denture

Same-Day Repairs in Our On-Site Lab
The on-site laboratory at Sommer Denture Centre can easily repair most denture fractures, with same-day repairs available. Our technicians can also add teeth to your current partial denture in very little time. However, if your denture requires a repair, it may indicate underlying problems: age of the denture, worn teeth or poor fit. Consult with your denturist to learn how to prevent your dentures from breaking.

Cosmetic Denture Rejuvenation
Are you noticing cosmetic flaws in your dentures’ appearance – chipped or worn teeth, staining, loose fit, or wrinkles at the edge of your mouth? Over time, dentures wear; your oral tissue changes and the jaw bones can actually shrink. Gradually, your older dentures no longer fit or complement your facial features. Sommer Denture Centre offers a solution. With cosmetic denture rejuvenation, our technicians create new dentures that reflect your current oral and facial structure to improve your smile, fit, bite and appearance.
